As part of a new program to showcase unique filming locations around the state, the New Hampshire Film & Television Office held its first quarterly Location Spotlight event at the Team O'Neil Rally School and Car Control Center in Dalton on Friday, July 29, 2011. About ten of us met at the Dalton, NH location and after get-to-know-ya intros and Dunkin' Donuts coffee we sat down to hear Ty Ledger of Kettlebottom Productions . It's a shame that this movie is probably gonna tank at the boxoffice because I like Peter Berg as a director (The Rundown, The Empire), I like Liam Neeson, and I'm a fan of the US Navy. Unfortunately -- neither inspiring or particularly exciting -- the trailer (and poster) does little to instill any confidence in this latest toy-turned-movie adventure. Quite frankly this does not look like $200 million worth of alien invasion. I'll credit them with making it easy to figure out how they plan to bring the Battleship seek-and-destroy game play to life. But I think they should clue us in to what the aliens look like (or more about their motivation?) and if you call your movie Battleship, you might want to actually show a battleship. Just sayin'. Of course from what Berg has said in interviews there will be a battleship. In fact I think we'll see the resurrection of the decommissioned USS Missouri a-la "The Final Countdown."
