Way before Puss ever met Shrek, our suave and furry feline hero goes on a swashbuckling ride, as he teams with mastermind Humpty Dumpty and the street-savvy Kitty to steal the famed Goose that lays the Golden Eggs. It is directed by Chris Miller (Shrek the Third) and produced by Joe Aguilar (Merry Madagascar) and Latifa Ouaou (Monsters vs. Aliens). It is being written by Tom Wheeler (The Cape). Andrew Adamson (Shrek, The Chronicles of Narnia) and Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth) are serving as executive producers on the film, which stars Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, Zach Galifianakis, Billy Bob Thornton and Amy Sedaris. Eleven days until Walt Disney World. For the second entry of 'Countdown to Walt Disney World 2011' the year is 1991, neon color schemes are all the rage, George H. W. Bush is president and Michael Eisner's fingerprints are ALL over Disney. This was my second trip to WDW, and a lot had changed since 1978. Like the fact that there were two more parks to visit now; Epcot and Disney-MGM Studios! We were in the parks only four days, which kind of limited the number of things we did since we were staying off-proprty, trying to squeeze in one park a day, go to Pleasure Island and Typhoon Lagoon. On the list of things I wish I had done differently would have been taking more pictures. I LOVED the Living Seas pavilion at Epcot, especially all of the '20,000 Leagues under the Sea' artifacts and the whole 'Sealab 2020' meets Jacque Cousteau vide they had going on. On October 2nd Lisa, Maddy, Scott, Martha and I will be winging our way south to a certain 43 square miles of swampland in Florida. Walt Disney World has become our favorite home-away-from home and official family vacation spot since the arrival of Princess Maddy. Having vacationed there individually, and as a couple, Lisa and I were already enamored with WDW. But when we took our first trip there with Maddy we started seeing the parks in a whole new light. It didn't take long for us to make the investment in the Disney Vacation Club and to begin making annual pilgrimages to the Magic Kingdom (and DHS, DAK and Epcot) as a way to celebrate Maddy's birthday, pre-celebrate our anniversary, and just get away from it all.
