The Funniest Movie You'll Ever Read

'Bambi' Added to National Film Registry

Under the terms of the National Film Preservation Act, the Librarian of Congress each December names 25 films to the National Film Registry that are “culturally, historically or aesthetically” significant. Bambi (1942) One of Walt Disney’s timeless classics (and his own personal favorite), this animated coming-of-age tale of a wide-eyed doe’s life in the forest has enchanted generations since its debut nearly 70 years ago. Filled with iconic characters and moments, the film is filled with beautiful images, the result of extensive nature studies by Disney’s animators. Its realistic characters merged human and animal qualities in the time-honored tradition of folklore and fable, enhancing the movie’s resonating, emotional power. Treasured as one of film’s most heart-rending stories of parental love, Bambi also has come to be recognized for its eloquent message of nature conservation. Read more at THR.com

TRON Legacy - "Mickey Flynn" & "Mourra Mouse"

This falls under the "better late than never" heading. Produced in 2010, these oil paintings by Greg McCullough , are a very cool interpretation of Mickey & Minnie Mouse as TRON Legacy characters. And why so late? I just recently discovered them for sale as Limited Edition Giclee on Paper or Canvas prints: Mickey or Minnie

Haywire - One Sheet 4

I really like the design of the 'Haywire' posters. Very kinetic, frenzied even noirish, they help convey the chaos of the main character's journey. The color pallet too, it's minimal and gives the design a very cool retro look. [via IMP Awards ]

40 fun facts for Disney World's 40th anniversary

40 fun facts for Disney World's 40th anniversary It's been 40 years since Disney World opened and turned Orlando into one of the world's most visited destinations. Sure, the long lines are a punch line. And all Disney magic comes with a price tag. But all 17.2 million people who pass annually through the Magic Kingdom can't be wrong. So we tip our mouse ears to Disney with one fact for each year of its existence. 1. Walt Disney bought the 43 square miles of Central Florida swampland for Disney World for $5 million, or about $185 an acre. 2. Walt Disney died of complications of lung cancer on Dec. 15, 1966, before the first shovel of dirt was moved on construction of Disney World. 3. 10,000. That was the number of people in attendance for Disney World's soft opening on Oct. 1, 1971. But the grand opening later that month — which included performances by Julie Andrews, Bob Hope and Glen Campbell — was televised nationally. Today, the Magic Kingdom alone averages about

BATTLESHIP - Trailer 2

Now, see, this is what the first trailer should have looked like. Although it has barely anything to do with the board game it's supposed to be based on, it is far more entertaining and informative than the teaser. I can almost take this movie seriously now. Almost. Peter Berg (Hancock) produces and directs Battleship, an epic action-adventure that unfolds across the seas, in the skies and over land as our planet fights for survival against a superior force. Based on Hasbro's classic naval combat game, Battleship stars Taylor Kitsch as Lt. Alex Hopper, a Naval officer assigned to the USS John Paul Jones; Brooklyn Decker as Sam Shane, a physical therapist and Hopper's fiancee; Alexander Skarsgard as Hopper's older brother, Stone, Commanding Officer of the USS Sampson; Rihanna as Petty Officer Raikes, Hopper's crewmate and a weapons specialist on the USS John Paul Jones; and international superstar Liam Neeson as Hopper and Stone's superior (and Sam's fathe
